(Part-I) 


A.K. Bag, was Head, History of Science Division, Indian National Science Academy, New Delhi. He has published several books and numerous papers on history of Indian science, specially in the areas of mathematics and astronomy. 

Prajit K. Basu holds a master degree in chemistry from IIT, Kanpur and Ph.D. degree in history and philosophy of science from the University of Iowa. Currently he is engaged in teaching and research in the areas of history and philosophy of science at Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT, Delhi. 

Pushpa M. Bhargava  is the founder and former Director of the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology(CCMB) at Hyderabad. Currently associated with the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, Hyderabad, he is a CSIR Distinguished Fellow. He has authored many papers and several books. 

Sibajiban Bhattacharyya has taught philosophy for more than four decades in different universities and institutions in India and abroad. He has authored and edited many books and papers. He is currently a National Fellow of the Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR), New Delhi. 

Chandana Chakrabarti holds a degree in science from Osmania University and was, until recently, associated with the  Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) at Hyderabad. She has to her credit a number of articles on such subjects as science and aesthetics, culture and history. 

Debiprasad Chattopadhyaya was a renowned Marxist scholar and has made significant contribution in the different areas of Indic Studies. He has authored numerous papers and books. One of the pioneers in the areas of philosophy, history of science and technology in India. Chattopadhyaya has taught at Calcutta University and received honors from many universities and academic bodies in India and abroad.  

D.P. Chattopadhyaya , Director of the Project of History of Indian Science, Philosophy and Culture (PHISPC), was a Professor of Philosophy at Jadavpur University, Calcutta.Founder and former Chairman of the Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR), he has published several books and papers. He is currently a National Fellow of the ICPR. 

Vijaya Jayant Deshpande did her research work in the area of history and science at Bhandarkar Oriental Research Institute. Her research work and publication have received high professional recognition. 

O.P. Jaggi, an Editorial Fellow of the Project (PHISPC), was Dean, faculty of Medical Science , University of Delhi. He has done significant research on the history of science and technology in India and published many books in this area. He was elected Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society, London. 

Kireet Joshi is an erudite Scholar on Sri Aurobindo and has several papers and books to his credit. Formerly a senior administrator in the Ministry of Human Resource Development and Member Secretary of the Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR), he is at present President of the Dharam Hinduja International Centre of Indic Research. 

Daya Krishna, an Editorial Fellow of the Project (PHISPC), was Professor of Philosophy at Rajasthan University, Jaipur. Formerly National Fellow both of ICPR and ICSSR, he has authored many books and papers on philosophy both Indian and western. He edits Journal of Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR). 

Ravinder Kumar, Director, Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, and Chairman, Indian Council of Historical Research, is the Academic Coordinator, Project of History of Indian Science, Philosophy and Culture (PHISPC). He has published many papers and books on social history. 

J.N. Mohanty is Professor of Philosophy at Temple University, Philadelphia, USA. He has taught at many universities and institutions in India, USA and other countries. He has published extensively on Indian philosophy, culture and phenomenology. 

P.K. Mukhopadhyay is Professor of Philosophy at Jadavpur University. He has published many papers and books. Currently he is associated with the Foundations and Methodology of Theoretical Sciences in Indian Tradition, a project of NISTADS (DST), and Project of History of Indian Science, Philosophy and Culture (PHISPC). 

J.V. Narlikar is Director, Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics, University of Pune. Formerly associated with TIFR and several other universities, he has published many learned papers in India and abroad. His works on history of science in India and popular science have proved influential. 

G.C. Pande and Editorial Fellow of the Project (PHISPC), was Professor of Indian Ancient History and Archaeology at Allahabad University. Former Vice-Chancellor of both Rajasthan University and Allahabad University, Pande has to his credit several books and papers on history, philosophy and culture. He was a National Fellow of (ICHR). 

A.Rahman, an Editorial Fellow of the project (PHISPC), was the first Director, National Institute of Science, Technology And Development Studies (NISTADS), a CSSIR unit. Pioneer in the field of history of technology in India, Rahman has authored edited and co-edited many books and learned papers. 

Raja Ramanna, former Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission of India, is now Director, National Institute of Advanced Study, Bangalore. He has to his credit many publications on scientific and interdisciplinary subjects. 

S.R. Rao is known for his discovery of Harappan Port of Lothal and the submerged city of Dwaraka of the Mahabharata tradition. He has published several books and papers and was an Emeritus Scientist of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). 

S.Shankaranarayanan an Associate Editor of the Project (PHISPC), was formerly Professor of Indian Culture, S.V. University, Tirupati. Versed in classical language and thought his publications on different aspects of Indian history and thought have been highly acclaimed. 

S.N. Sen, one of the pioneers in the History of Science in India, worked at the Indian Association for Cultivation of Science, Calcutta and Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Calcutta. He has to his credit many learned books and papers. Till the end he was actively associated with the Project of History of Indian Science, Philosophy and Culture (PHISPC). 

B.M. Udgaonkar was formerly a Director of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Bombay. He is now the Director of Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education. He has published extensively in learned journals in India and abroad on scientific and interdisciplinary subjects.
