D.P. AGRAWAL  formerly worked at the Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad. His published works include The Archaeology of India and The Copper Bronze Age in India

SIBESH BHATTACHARYA  was formerly Head, Department of Ancient History, Culture and Archeology, University of Allahabad. His published works include Some Aspects of Indian Society from 2nd Century BC to 4th Century AD. He was British Council Scholar in England, 1972 – 73 and Sectional President, Indian History Congress. 

R.S. BISHT was till recently Director, Institute of Archaeology, Archaeological Survey of India, New Delhi. He is well known as the Excavator of Dholavira. Apart from many research papers and reports, his published work include, in collaboration with J.P. Joshi, India and the Indus Civilization. Currently, he is Director (Excavation) in the Archeological Survey of India. 

PREM SAGAR CHATURVEDI teaches at the Department of  Ancient History, Culture and Archaeology, University of Gorakhpur. His published works include Technology in Vedic Literature

S.P. GUPTA worked in the Archaeological Survey of India, the National Museum of India, New Delhi and was Director, Allahabad Museum. He is currently Chairman, Institute of Archaeology, New Delhi. His published works include Archaeology of Soviet Central Asia and Indian Borderlands, Roots of Indian Art, and Saraswati Indus Civilization

KISHORE NATH JHA teaches at G.N. Jha Kendriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, Allahabad and Specializes in Nyaya and Mimamsa and has published several works on the subject including the editions of  Ajita (2 Volumes) Nyaya Tatvoloka

S.N. JHA is a Reader in Jyotish in the Kendriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, Lucknow. He has published several papers. He is a Sanskritist and an astronomer. 

JAGAT PATI JOSHI was formerly Director General of the Archaeological Survey of India. His published works include Excavations at Bhagwanpura and Excavation at Surkotada. Currently, he is conducting excavations near Nagpur. 

SUBHASH KAK is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering in Louisiana State University, Louisiana. He is also a Sanskritist. His published works include many research papers and Astronomical Code of  the Rig Veda, The Nature of Physical Reality, India at  Century’s End. In collaboration with others, he is also the author of  In Search of the Cradle of Civilization

B.B. LAL was formerly Director General, Archaeological Survey of India and also Professor of Archaeology at the Jiwaji University, Gwalior. He excavated Kalibangan and conceived the Ramayana Project. His published works include, apart from many papers and reports, The Earliest Civilization of South Asia

V.D. MISHRA is currently Professor and Head, Department of Ancient History, Culture and Archaeology, University of Allahabad. He has published several archaeological reports in collaboration with  his colleagues on the archaeology of the Middle Ganga Valley. Among his Archeological reports, the excavation at Mahadaha is prominent. Along with Professor G.R. Sharma, he published an important monograph, viz., Beginnings of  Agriculture. Currently he is excavating at Jhusi. 

INDRA PAL was Professor and Head, Department  of Geography, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. His published works include Changing Contours of Arid Ecology (2 Volumes). He passed away a couple of years ago. 

G.C. PANDE was formerly Professor, Ancient History, Culture and Archaeology, University of Gorakhpur; Tagore Professor of Indian Culture and History, Rajasthan University, Jaipur; Head of the Department of Ancient History, Culture and Archaeology, University of Allahabad. He was also visiting Gaekwad Professor, Banaras Hindu University and National  Fellow, Indian Council of Historical Research. He was Vice Chancellor, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur and Allahabad University, Allahabad. Currently, he is the Chairman, Allahabad Museum Society and Indian Institute  of Advanced Studies, Shimla. His published works include, Studies in the Origins of Buddhism, Foundations of Indian Culture (2 Volumes), Life and Thought of Sancaracarya, Process of Culture, Aspects of Mahayana. 

SUSHILA PANT is Professor and Head of the Department of Ancient History, Culture and Archaeology, Vikram University, Ujjain. He has specialized in Prehistoric Rock Art and Buddhist Art. 

S.A. PARAMHANS was Senior Research Scientist, Department of Applied Mathematics in the Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. Although his specialization was in Algebra, he also worked on history of science. On the other hand, he was also a scholar of Vedanta and Navya Nyaya. He published many research papers and published a work on Vedantic Epistemology in Sanskrit. He passed away this year. 

K.V. RAMAN was head of the Department of Ancient Indian History and Archaeology, University of Madras. His published works include Excavation at Uraivur and Brahmi Inscriptions of  Tamil Nadu

S.N. Roy was Professor and Head, Department of Ancient History, Culture and Archaeology, University of Allahabad. He specialized in Puranic Studies, Palaeography and Numismatics  on which his published work is well known. Currently working as Research Fellow at the National Museum, Allahabad. 

ARVIND SHARMA is Birks Professor of Comparative Religions at the McGill University, Montreal. He is also a Sanskritist. His published works include Our Religions, Hinduism For Our Times, The Philosophy of Religion – Buddhist Perspective

P.V. SHARMA was formerly Professor and Dean, Banaras Hindu University and also Vice Chancellor, Gurukul Kangri University, Haridwar. He has published numerous works including History of Medicine in India, Ayurveda ka Vaijnanika Itihasa, Vagbhatta Vivecna, etc

RAMA NATH SHARMA is currently Professor of Sanskrit, Department of Indo-Pacific Languages, University of Hawaii, Honolulu. Three volumes of his magnum opus Astadhyayi have been published. His writings combine traditional as well as modern learning. 

PURUSHOTTAM SINGH is a Professor in the Department of Ancient History, Culture and Archaeology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. His published works include Excavation at Narhan  

PRAKASH SINHA teaches Archaeology in the  Department of Ancient History, Culture and Archaeology, University of Allahabad. He has visited the Institute of Archaeology, London on a Commonwealth Fellowship. He has also been awarded the E.H. Scholarship of Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland. His published works include Model for Land Use in Late Acheulean Tradition (Satna District, M.P.) 

V.C. SRIVASTAVA is presently Manindra Chandra Nandi Professor and Head, Department of Ancient History, Culture and Archaeology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. His published works include Sun Worship in Ancient India, Prehistoric Afghanistan: A Source Book, Protohistoric Afghanistan: A Source Book. He was Visiting Professor at the Kabul University, 1978-82 and Visiting Fellow at several European universities. 

BADRI NARAYAN TIWARI is Lecturer in Social Anthropology in G.B. Pant Social Science Institute, Jhusi, Allahabad. His published work relates to Subaltern history and the historical use of folklore. He is also a well known poet. 

Vibha Tripathi teaches Archaeology in the Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. Her work relates specially to the archaeology of iron age on which she has published a number of research papers. Her published works include Painted Grey Ware and Iron Age Culture of Northern India

RADHA KANT VERMA was Professor and Head, Department of Ancient History, Culture and Archaeology, A.P.S. University, Rewa. Earlier he taught at the University of Allahabad. He has specialized in Prehistoric and Protohistoric Archaeology and has also been working on Rock paintings. Apart from many research papers and Archaeological reports, his published work includes Mesolithic Age in Mirzapur.
